Introducing the Ladybug Board.
This ladybug image comes from Charley Harper's 1968 serigraph "Bug That Bugs Nobody".
Although we hand select every board we use in our production, please keep in mind that hardwoods are a natural product, therefore variations in color and grain may occur.
MATERIALS:
Made of solid walnut with a two color epoxy inlay.
DIMENSIONS:
The board measures approximately 12.5" in diameter and is 3/4" thick.
"All the world loves a ladybug. Since time began they have been pals to people, and over the centuries ladybugs have built the kind of image that can only be earned: Insect Friend Number 1. They portend good luck and dine only on other insects whose very existence plagues people. Nobody swats, stomps or sprays a ladybug. It’s the only bug that doesn’t bug anybody! Folks are even flattered when they find a ladybug CRAWLING ON THEM! Can any other insect make that statement?" -Charley Harper
About The Artist:
Charley Harper (August 4, 1922 – June 10, 2007) was a Cincinnati-based American Modernist artist. He was best known for his highly stylized wildlife prints, posters, and book illustrations. In a style he called "minimal realism", Charley Harper captured the essence of his subjects with the fewest possible visual elements.
