Crafted with Scandinavian Style: Our Story
We are collectors and creatives at heart. Married for almost 30 years, antiquing, auctions, markets, and estate sales were always a fun weekend together learning about all types of design and art. Mid Century Modern and Danish Modern design is what we gravitated towards. We bought and sold mcm artwork, furniture and decor for many years but something was missing. We needed an outlet, Glen wanted to learn a craft and everything minimalist was inspiring to Heather. Thus began our adventure with wood.
●NORSEMEN COLLECTION:
Our love for this style brought about a desire to create something new. In the Norsemen Collection we are paying tribute to vintage wooden vikings. These hand turned vikings are done on a lathe in our workshop. The collectibles can be desk toys, home decor, kids collections or just tactile objects. They have been an outlet for our creativity and sparked the joy we have found in working with wood.
●CHEESE & CHARCUTERIE BOARDS:
Our journey continued with the purchase of our CNC machine in 2019. This machine gave us the ability to create scandinavian inspired cheese and charcuterie boards. We designed a variety of shapes including teardrop, surfboard, round, longboard. Each shape truly embodies the Scandi aesthetic and can be personalized, inlaid with tiles or wooden accents and/or engraved and filled with epoxy. Chose a design that fits your style and create a board to display in your kitchen or give as a gift.
●COLLABORATIONS:
In 2020 we began a collaboration with our alma mater, the University of Cincinnati as well as The UC Foundation. We've created custom hardwood products including keepsake boxes, charcuterie boards for holiday gifts. and boards to commemorate a historic football season.
The following year we began a collaboration with The Charley Harper Art Studio bringing iconic Harper images to life. Our Scandinavian style boards are made of Walnut and Harper's images are inlaid with epoxy resin.
